Inspired by Robert Flaherty's narrative documentaries, the Jewish ethnologist and filmmaker Friedrich Dalsheim made this expedition film with a fiction plot. The villagers of Bedulu on Bali live in peace and harmony. Only witches and demons threaten their happiness by causing trouble and bringing disease to the village. Even Wajan and Sari can only come together after they have overcome the demonic forces.
