Jewish, American, unemployed: the story of Abel Rosenberg is set in Berlin in 1923. Lost in alcohol since his brother's suicide and after several murder charges, he spends his time with Manuela, a cabaret dancer and his brother's companion. A strange encounter will once again upset their lives.
