Collection PremodernismThe lyrical, impressionist film takes place in Óbuda in the thirties. The smart, unemployed Pettersen meets the immaculately clean worker girl. They spend several nights together in the little hut of the man built of trash. Vera works in a laundry, but all her wish is to become a dancer. The boss, Weiszhaupt, notices the girl. The defenceless Vera leaves Pettersen for the promise of a safe future. When the man gets himself a job in the laundry as well, he sees her again as Weiszhaupt's lover. True love arises in Vera, but now Pettersen refuses her.
