On the 100th anniversary of the founding of a watchmaking company in Geneva, Charles D&eacute; the founder&#x27;s 50-year-old grandson has had it: he speaks eccentrically to a reporter, recognizing his grandfather as a craftsman and his son as a businessman, but is evasive about himself. He gives his family the slip and moves in with a young couple he meets by chance, doing the cooking, reading, drinking, and engaging in philosophical discussions with them. The young couple comes to love Charles. In secret, he stays in touch with a daughter, and the rest of the family hires a private investigator to find him, setting in motion a business take-over that threatens his Bohemian happiness.

The European equivalent of &quot;The Return of the Secaucus 7,&quot; this Swiss film looks at the lives of several men and women in their 30s as they confront the slim gains of the &quot;revolutionary&quot; sixties. Max, a dissatisfied copy editor; Myriam, a redhead into tantric sex; and Marie, a supermarket checker who gives unauthorized discounts to the elderly, search for renewed meaning on a communal farm. Two men, arty though somewhat staid, are drawn to the spirited and quixotic Rosemonde, a young working-class woman whom they meet because they&#x27;re writing a teleplay about a minor but curious event in which either her uncle was wounded while cleaning his rifle or she shot him. Pierre is a free-lance journalist hired to write the script; he&#x27;s short of time so he asks a Bohemian novelist friend, Paul, to help. Pierre wants facts and tracks down Rosemonde for interviews that lead to other explorations; Paul only wants to imagine her and needs little more than her name to do so. But he does meet her, and she entangles him, too. Did she cause the shooting? Is she venomous or innocent?

Présenté en première au cinéma central de l’Exposition nationale suisse de 1964, Les Apprentis est sélectionné, la même année, au Festival international du film de Locarno, puis, en 1966, aux premières Journées cinématographiques de Soleure. En l’absence du négatif original, la restauration numérique a été effectuée à partir d’un scan 4K de l’interpositif combiné 35mm ainsi que d’une numérisation du son original magnétique 17,5mm. Le son magnétique de la deuxième bobine ne correspondant pas au montage de l’interpositif combiné, cette partie a été directement numérisée à partir de la bande son optique présente dans ce dernier. Les différents matériaux ont été déposés par Walter Marti et Reni Mertens entre 2005 et 2006 et ils sont conservés à la Cinémathèque suisse. En l’absence d’autres éléments d’époque, l’étalonnage de la présente version a été effectué à partir d’une copie 16mm établie pour la télévision, présentant le même montage que l’interpositif.

In the small village of Trincamp, Fran&ccedil;ois Perrin gets kicked off the soccer team and asked to leave his work in the factory. He is put in jail for a rape he didn&#x27;t commit and subsequently pardoned. He is hired in an important game and by scoring the winning goal suddenly becomes a big hero. However he has not forgotten his past or how the leading citizens used to scorn him. So Perrin uses his new won fame to pave the way for revenge.

The story about a very small god-forgotten village in Siberia reflects the history of Russia from the beginning of the century till early 80s. Three generations try to find the land of happiness and to give it to the people. One builds the road through taiga to the star over horizon, the second &#39;build communism&#39; and the third searches for oil. The oil is found but the destruction of the old cemetry and everything the people of the village cared for followed to get the &#39;black treasure&#39; of Siberia.

A Latin palindrome is the title of Guy Debord&#x27;s last film, in which he, as narrator, explains that he will make neither concessions to the tastes of his viewers nor to the dominant ideas of his day. After extensively insulting the audience that goes to the cinema to forget its heteronomous life, the film becomes autobiographical, using images from the world of spectacle: advertising brochures, clips from feature films (Les enfants du paradis), comics, aerial footage of Paris, tracking shots through Venice, photographs of friends - all commented on by Debord, with an at times melancholy undertone: &quot;This Paris no longer exists.&quot; His assessment is that one of the great pleasures of his life has been the sensation of the passage of time, and as a witness to the disintegration of social order, he has loved his epoch.
