Michel a toujours rêvé de devenir aviateur, alors lorsqu’il tombe sur la photo d’un kayak, cela tombe sous le sens : on dirait le fuselage d’un avion. Sans hésiter, en cachette de sa femme, il bricole son propre kayak et part à l’aventure, sur une rivière. Il fait une halte dans une guinguette où il rencontre la patronne, Laetitia, et la serveuse, Mila : ce qui ne devait être qu’une escale se prolonge plus que prévu…
