À Hong Kong, la police et la mafia se livrent à une lutte féroce. Ming, un gangster infiltré dans les rangs de la police, jouit d’une réputation sans tache et a rapidement gravi les échelons. Yan, un policier infiltré dans la triade depuis une dizaine d’année, a lui aussi monté dans la hiérarchie mafieuse et gagné le respect de ses pairs. Le jour où les deux camps réalisent qu’ils comptent une taupe dans leurs rangs, une course contre la montre s’engage.

Note : Infernal Affairs a fait l’objet d’un remake américain réalisé par Martin Scorsese intitulé Les Infiltrés.
