1871. Arthur Rimbaud, un adolescent de 16 ans, prend le train pour Paris pour rejoindre le poète Paul Verlaine auquel il a envoyé quelques-unes de ses œuvres. Irrémédiablement subjugués, les deux hommes entament une relation amoureuse violente ponctuée de ruptures et de retrouvailles.
