Olivier et Éric Nakache & Toledano
French directors, Olivier Nakache and Eric Toledano, born respectively in Suresnes in 1973 and in Paris in 1971.
Nakache and Toledano began with Les petits souliers (1999), which was selected for the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival. In 2004, Gérard Depardieu and Jean-Paul Rouve joined them for their first feature, Let’s Be Friends (2002). They then adapted their short film Ces jours heureux (2002) into the successful Those Happy Days, and in 2009 released the comedy Tellement proches. In 2011, the worldwide phenomenon The Untouchables, brought together François Cluzet and Omar Sy and sold 19 million tickets in France and 31 million abroad. The film was a nominee at the Golden Globes and the BAFTA Awards, and won Best European Film at the Goya Awards, with Omar Sy winning Best Actor at the César Awards. In 2019, The Specials, starring Vincent Cassel and Reda Kateb, was screened out of competition at Cannes.
