La Séparation
by Maurice Cazeneuve1h201968France
Louis Vigné, a modest retired civil servant, peacefully ends an uneventful life at his wife's side. When she dies and Louis is all alone : alone with the objects, alone with others and alone with himself. Very quickly he realises the extent of the happiness he has experienced and realises that the only place where he can find peace is the small graveyard where his wife rests. In this melancholy and affecting parable, Charles Vanel plays a role made entirely of nuances and restrained emotions.
