Alexandre Astier
Actor, comedian, musician, and director born in Lyon in 1974.
Alexandre Astier, the new King Arthur, reigns over the medieval land of Kaamelott, in front of and behind the camera. Humourously updating the legends of the Round Table, his quest for the Grail has variously taken the form of television (from 2005 to 2009), film (Kaamelott: The First Chapter, 2021), comic strip, and music (a professional musician, Astier composes the original soundtracks of his creations). With the Asterix animation films: Asterix: The Mansions of the Gods (2014) and Asterix: The Secret of the Magic Potion (2018), this time he revisits ancient Rome. This knight of the popular arts also reappropriates stage traditions, with shows that strike a balance between academic culture and comic spirit: from Que ma joie demeure ! (2012) in which he explores and plays the role of Johann Sebastian Bach to L’Exoconférence (2014) on the mysteries of astrophysics.
