At a telephone exchange in Paris, young Frenchwoman Lily befriends German Erich, who works at an exchange in Berlin. They would like to meet but after a mix-up, they each end up with somebody else. Max keeps trying to force his attentions on Lily while Annette constantly attempts to lure Erich into her bed. After many adventures, Lily and Erich manage to meet in Berlin.
